Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow hosts, promotes, and supports events throughout the year that connect students with alumni, celebrate the UChicago community, and elevate the student experience through philanthropy. Check back for updates!

College Kick-off and Academic Opportunities Fair (September 30)

Join Dean Hale and other members of the College administration for a cookout, music, and games to celebrate the beginning of another great academic year. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to join the festivities. Free giveaways will be handed out to the first 500 students, so be sure to arrive early. Please bring your UCID and check in at the registration table.

Engagement Expo (October 3)

The Center for Leadership and Involvement would like to invite you to participate in the 2025 Engagement Expo. During the fair, representatives from several hundred student organizations and University offices welcome students back to campus and help new students begin to make the most of their UChicago experience!

This year, the Engagement Expo was on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Main Quad.

RBC Race for the Kids at Comer Children’s Hospital (October 5)

Help fund groundbreaking research for the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital. The race offers families and friends a day of fun while supporting children’s health in Chicago and throughout the world. UChicago students, alumni, parents, and affiliates receive a discounted rate.

Global Pub Trivia Night (October 9)

Global Pub Trivia Night is an epic UChicago battle of wits, with fun prizes, signature drinks, and great company. Come out to reconnect, reminisce, and show your trivia mettle!

Over 100 fourth-year students joined this UChicago Alumni signature event at the Pub on October 9, 6:30 PM-9:30 PM CT. Drawing on the tradition of Trivia Tuesdays, Global Pub Trivia Night at the Pub brought together fellow College alumni-to-be for a fun and memory-jogging good time.

Homecoming Week (November 1–8)

Show your Maroon pride November 1–8 at Homecoming Week 2025! Kick off the week of festivities by cheering on our football team at Stagg Field, then stick around for fascinating lectures, Family Weekend events, and our famous Homecoming Block Party.

Tailgate and Spirit Spot: 10 a.m.–3 p.m. at Stagg Field, East 55th Street 

  • Express your UChicago House pride with a student-created banner, displayed during the Maroons Tailgate. The UChicago House Banner Competition invites you to bring your artistic vision to life with paint and canvas. This event was co-hosted by UChicago Housing and UChicago Alumni. Make sure to check out all the Homecoming Week spirit banners, including the winning house banners created by Yuen House, Cathey House, and Thompson House. 

Football Senior Day (Maroons versus Monmouth): 1 p.m. at Stagg Field, East 55th Street 

Annual House Grilling Competition: 3:30–5:30 p.m. at Baker Dining Commons (inside Campus North Residential Commons), 5500 South University Avenue

Volleyball Senior Day (Maroons versus UW–Platteville): 4 p.m. at Ratner Athletics Center, 5530 South Ellis Avenue


Sunday, November 2

Men’s Soccer (Maroons versus Brandeis): 11 a.m. at Stagg Field, East 55th Street

Women’s Soccer (Maroons versus Brandeis): 1:30 p.m. at Stagg Grass Field, East 55th Street

More Than an Athlete: Identity, Purpose, and Mental Health: Noon–1 p.m. on Zoom

Dollar Shake Day: Wednesday, November 5, 11 a.m.–1 p.m., Reynolds Club, 5706 South University Avenue

  • First 150 shakes are free, brought to you by UChicago Dining!

Thursday, November 6

Restorative Yoga Class: 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at the Student Wellness Center (multipurpose room), 840 East 59th Street

Thankful Thursday: 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at Reynolds Club (Marketplace), 5706 South University Avenue

Thankful Thursday is your chance to share about your College experience with the donors who help make it all possible through their support of scholarships, internships, research opportunities, athletics, student life, and much more! Over 200 students joined us for fall treats and SWAG as we showed gratitude for our philanthropic community, writing thank-you notes, recording video messages, and completing scholarship surveys. Hot Chocolate Night (January 13)

UChicago Alumni and Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow (STAT) invite all College students to this cozy winter celebration: Hot Chocolate Night. Enjoy tasty treats and hot cocoa, photo booth fun, a campus trivia scavenger hunt, and more. Plus, first- and second-year students will receive custom class mugs (first come, first served)! Don’t miss this College and Kuvia tradition, taking place at the Ida Noyes Hall Cloister Club on Tuesday, January 13, from 7–9 p.m.
